Gingerbread Walk FAQs

Who can enter a Gingerbread “House”? Anyone! NAMA invites businesses, organizations, teams, schools, families, and individuals to join in the fun! There is a $10 entry fee (the fee is waived for NAMA members).

Do we have to make a house out of gingerbread? No! We use the term “Gingerbread House” loosely. It can be traditional, whimsical or out of the box. It can be made of cake, cookie or something that represents your business, organization, or family! We’ve seen traditional gingerbread houses, bird houses, dog houses, a gym-gingerbread house, even a beautiful metal print of a gingerbread house, a pillow, and a small tree with gingerbread themed earring dangling from it! We’ve seen structures made out cake, cookies, candy, wood, cardboard, Legos, and our local bookstore made theirs out of books! It’s a time to be creative and festive! Check out the photos of last year’s entries —>

Is there a size limit? Yes. All “Gingerbread Houses” must be placed on a plywood board base or sturdy cardboard not exceeding 24”x 24″x24” and be able to be easily transported.

Is there electricity available? Entrants will not be provided with a power source; should you choose to add lighted or powered elements, they should be battery powered.

When do we drop off the creations to the Stevens Estate? You can drop off your entry Thursday evening (12/4) or Friday morning (12/5). Exact times will be shared shortly.

Do we get back our entry? No. All “Gingerbread Houses” will be raffled off to the visitors to the Gingerbread Walk. Materials will not be returned to you.
